So why is it that Christmas trees and small children are totally incompatible ....until of course Christmas day..when they don't know that its in the room anymore.. :haha: :haha:

Like you don't know......it's like putting a bowl of molassas in the middle of the yard....and expecting NO ants to find it.......I think that they have done every thing exept play army in it.... angry3

I think it's like anything with kids.  You say: "You can look, but don't touch"....so of course they're going to touch it.  Maybe they'll wait till they think nobody's looking, maybe not.  But if you don't say anything, then they'll touch it anyway, out of curiosity.  Best solution: don't use any breakable ornaments.  If the tree falls on them?  Well, you told them not to touch it.  Personally, I think they should have inflatable rubber Christmas trees.

my precocious 17 mo. old will of course grab the tree and anything hanging off it. so i tell him to do it softly, like i tell him to be gentle when he tries to drag the cat around the room. then he just gently touches it (until i look away). at least that way i can try to prevent major damage.
