Okay guys, I want serious opinions on this. When my current logo was drawn up by Adam (artwork guy) I was seriously just wanting something different... I just wanted something that people would look at and think 'WhOW, crazy... I'm used to a bulldog right there' -- but I am starting to think I should giver 'er a change up now.
I am thinking MAYBE a professional style logo, something that will then stay with the site forever... like Ebay, yahoo etc. type logo (except not necessarily text based logo)
But as with many aspects of this site, I would like to leave this open for discussion and and logo suggestions would be awesome.
Adam will most likely be designing or refining the logo... but if you guys would like to submit your ideas in a more graphical format please feel free no matter what your artistic ability it would be appreciated. The logo or mascott or what ever needs to be in a free floating format, meaning that it basically can't be something cool on a crazy background, raw logo is what is needed.
If your idea ends up being chosen, credit is always given where due. You will be listed in the legal section of the website for years to come as the person who made the idea for the logo... pretty cool I think

BUUUUUUT PLEASE do NOT use ANY copyrighted material, other website logos edited or even close. I actually had a similar deal like this in the past where a member submitted a logo to me.. I loved it and put it up (this was a long time ago), it ended up being another companies logo and their legal department contacted me... luckily they ended up being cool about it (the logo was not exact but it was pretty close and after looking at it for a while I noticed why they contacted me... I would be pissed if I saw my logo on another website myself) ---- I would really like to
NOT be sued anytime soon okay
--- anyone caught submitting copyrighted material that is accepted can be in for a possible lawsuit from the person, company or corporation that was infringed upon. So please use good judgement, and if you notice that someone has posted something that looks like copyrighted material please PM me with info... do NOT post the accusation yourself, no need to start a fight, especially if it is just similar (hell the person might not have known) - but if it is outright blatent I am going to embarass the crap out of them

Also don't worry about the logo going with my site design AT ALL, the site will be redesigned around the logo if necessary... and will ultimately be released with the new faster sleeker version of the site that is due out pretty soon - as with everything I write (and most web authors)... I only make a functional skeleton and later wrap it with skin --- because who the hell cares about that the skin looks like if the skeleton is missing it's legs and arms
Remember IDEAS or LOGOS --- and please don't be afraid to collaborate with each other in this post, t-shirts and props for all who are involved in any specific idea or logo (and by the way you can't hop on at the last second in an idea and expect to get props... you must be part of the creative process, which will in the end be left up to testmy.net users to decide (if a group submission is accepted as the new logo) ---- thank you for the help, I am sure as a group effort a dope ass log can be invented
