i had this problem before because i was using a bootleg copy of win xp

You probably have an illegal, and blacklisted product key. If you actually paid for this xp sp2 disk type it in one more time and verify it is correct if it still doesn't work, then call up microsoft and ask for help installing it, and tell them where you bought it from.

i do have anther key but unfortunately windows xp is installed on my computer already is there a way to change it so i can install the sp2

oh ok, i have sealed new windows xp pro i can use, is there away to change product key w/o reinstalling windows again or do i have to do a clean install?
