Whenever I connect my computer directly to my modem it, the 1st hop still times out. I thought it was the modem, so i called my isp and they switched it out with a new one. But it still times out. BTW, when it is hooked up to both my router and my modem, the 1st 2 hops always time out. Would this lead to my AIM always saying connection lost every 15-20 minutes? Also, firefox says its waiting for the site im trying to load for what seems to be a long time. Do the time outs cause that? Im running at about 50% of my cap, and am confused.

Thanks if you can help.     Confused

it just means your modem and router don't respond to pings... it shouldn't affect AIM...

Do you have any ideas why AIM would lose connection?
