Well ever since I moved to new house and got Cox ( same ISP as before ) BUT I got a new modem the sb-5120 going thru my D-link DI-604 and for about a couple months every couple days id come home from work and internet would be out ( online light on modem randomly blinking ) so id reset modem/router till eventually it would come back up... also if I downloaded overnight it would do the same thing... I originally just thought it was the connection until I plugged my comp directly to the modem and it works fine so it has to be the router. For the past couple days it's been completely out through the router and won't connect at all ( why it won't at all now is beyond me ) Ive updated the firmware twice and still nothing / swapped cat5 cables around just incase it was that or somethin. still nothing... is it the router or does this modem have problems with routers cause I'd really hate to buy a new router and end up with same problem lol plz any suggestions/help much appreciated. Thanks

D-Link release some really poor firmware late last year.. For some reason it works on some of the hardware and for other stuff it doesnt work at all.. I would suggest flashing down to the second newest firmware and give that a try.

k dlink only had 2 different ones on their site and neither work... cyclned modem/router off for 5+ min etc and nothin 8( I'll look on other sites for even older ones or something, but if nothing works anyone have a suggestion on a non-wireless router that works good with sb-5120 and ill buy a new diff brand. Hopefully It'll start workin 8( Thanks for the info so far.

That is a decent deal.. you can normally find the wrt54g for about $40.00 to get the extra bandwidth that the GS version has you are going to have to run linksys' cards in all of the computers.

Are you flashing from wireless or wired?

D-Link is usually on top of everyone, but like all pieces of hardware you’ll get some bad ones.
