I play alot of SOCOM and Xbox Live and can lagggg like a mofo even with a 3.1 Mbps.  Is there anyway to tweak a setting or 2 in order to get a higher speed?  What i figured is that all the tweaks i make on this computer, they only affect that connection not the router...Anyone have any info about this?

the tweaks you apply for windows, do not affect router

im not sure, but XBOX probl use UDP protocol, and there is nothing you can do, unless its a router issue.

Do you have laterst Firmware?

Could be due to high load on one of your isp's routers.

Two things:

1) Make sure that you have a DOCSIS 2 cable modem...

2) I hate to say it but you have to toss that Router.  I had one with the same issues your talking about. My xbox SUCKED....

I'm now running a D-link DCM-202 Cable modem & a DI624 wireless router...  I now get 6Mps down and .6Mps up.   I was getting LESS than have of that with my old equip!!!!

PS.  DON"T  run your Xbox wireless even on a G,  I tried and it just doesn't work well.

well i moved the router and modem upstairs next to my PS2 and Xbox so they are both wired, while my 3 computers  all have wireless cards...If anything, i will get that new wireless gaming router that i kinda heard about....
