FIOS wont be out for atleast 2 years, in the best case. Although you can be in an area that already has it, but i have not seen anyone who has it yet

Errmm, what do you mean? Ofcourse most ISP's make you use their modems that they send. I dont think any company would make FIOS modems/routers because it isnt out yet, or atleas i would think so.

Smile Im not sure about other places or ISP's but I have Cox~HSI in Tucson Az, and I can use any kind of modem I want, I did buy my modem from Cox so if there was any problem they would have to deal with it. My friend bought his own modem and I did his installation and it works fine, also Cox will rent a modem 2u........ Smile
