FAPPED! No way around it I guess. I'm gonna test it's accuracy every day. Is there a way to know for sure if you have been fapped? I slow down when I am not downloading so I don't  know when it is in place.

My FAP Threshold (limit) is 800 Megabytes, however, I have repeatedly "hit" my limit and then gone over it by as much as 1,000 before the FAP actually kicked in.  You'll know when you are FAP'ed because your speed will 'lock in' to a steady 100Kbps or perhaps half that ...depending on the amount per month you are paying them.

Cheers!

*At www.myDirecWay.com, you can view your usage (up to two hours in arrears) simply by logging into your account then clicking on "View my Usage."  It will tell you what your usage has been, and if and when you were SUBJECT to being FAP'ed (Just because you are SUBJECT to being FAP'ed doesn't always mean that you WILL be FAPed ...it depends on their general mood I believe.   :tongue2:

That is quite true about the DW4000 modems ...unplug them for 10 minutes and everything in them is "forgotten" ...which comes in quite handy at times!  I can't remember all of the "tricks" you can pull that way, but I remember making good use of them ...I do remember that it will erase your surfing history (for one), because they don't do it "on the fly" ...the DW4000's do "dumps" of data telling on where you've been!   The 6000's never shut up! #*%&##(

So far I haven't found a danged thing that will "erase" with a DW6000 ... except my checking account.  lol...  God forbid that we get away with anything when it comes to DirecWay ....after all, we don't want their CEO's starving to death because we used an extra megabyte or something!   Shocked

Cheers!
