can i tweak my 256 to get a little more speed ????
it's 256down and 128up evil

Connection is:: 220 Kbps about 0.22 Mbps (tested with 1013 kB)
Download Speed is:: 27 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net  (Server 1)
Test Time:: 2006/05/14 - 12:41am
Bottom Line:: 4X faster than 56K 1MB Download in 37.93 sec
Tested from a 1013 kB file and took 37.782 seconds to complete
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3
Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 31.75 % of your hosts average (cwjamaica.com)

You are running a clean comp, right?
Have you tweaked it yet?
Are you on a router?
Have you defragged or cleaned out your registry lately?
Are you cleaning out your cache before each test?

seeing as your testing from jamaica your result looks pretty good.

dsl is usually capped pretty much right where the advertised speed is supposed to be. so i doubt any amount of tweaking would bring much improvement. plus, your connection isn't that fast that fiddling with the receive window would make much difference. is your upload as close to your cap as your download? and what os are you running?

animex like resopalrabotnick said dsl is usually capped at what your advertised speed is, in your case 256Kbps,  so no amount of tweaking is going to make that connection go any faster. your at your max.

I agree... That test is not the worst i have seen. That 256 connection is right there for what you are supposed to get especially over seas.
