I've tried some of the tweaks discussed here, with mixed results.  Here are the results from my most recent running of tweak:  http://ttester.broadbandreports.com/tweak/block:46079b3?service=cable&speed=3000&os=winXP&via=normal
::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 2549 Kbps about 2.5 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB)
Download Speed is:: 311 kB/s
Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/
Bottom Line:: 46 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 3.29 second(s)
Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/cgi-bin/auth_check.cgi?num=252525
I began around 1.6-1.8Kbps, this test was after changing rwin to 48000.
Can I change anything to get closer to advertised speed?

hey flywhiteguy and welcome to the forum Smile

download vanburens_cablenut_setting_2versions.zip http://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1013.0
unzip it to C:\Program\Cablenut

open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks + save to registry

in top left corner you see file, load custom settings file, browse to

C:\Program\Cablenut\vanburens_cablenut_settings_version_2\VanBurens cablenut settings Version 2\WinXP_2K_CABLE_DSL\MSS1460

dubble click on Cable & DSL 3000 384.ccs (assume you have a 384 Kbps upload cap)

now click save to registry again

reboot your pc

good luck

Thanks for the quick reply!
I've tried the 3000/256 settings, they appear to slow me down 400-500Kbps, but will give it a go with the 3000/384.  I'm not sure what the caps are (Im a cable guy and were told 256).  Here are the results:

::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 1950 Kbps about 2 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB)
Download Speed is:: 238 kB/s
Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/
Bottom Line:: 35 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 4 second(s)
Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=RUQWD50YG

Here is the link to the tweak test after I made the changes.  I use Zone Alarm, and have to completely shut it down to run this test, I haven't noticed yet any difference with or without ZA running.

that was odd, well lets try this, change TcpWindowSize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize to 256960, also set  Default TTL to 64

now click save to registry and try again both against testmy.net and speakeasy

heya  flywhiteguy Smile

you must be dropping packets, with these rwin values you should max out your connection

try lower your rwin

change TcpWindowSize and GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize from 256960 to 64240 and also change Tcp13230pts from 1 to 0

also restart your modem, leave it off for 30 seconds

good luck

Thanks VanBuren for all the help so far...I imagine you have better things to do than help noobs with their issues, so I appreciate it!
Here's the latest test (got significantly slower with the latest tweaks?)

::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 1930 Kbps about 1.9 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB)
Download Speed is:: 236 kB/s
Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/

Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=3DCUTJ64Q

Don't have one from speakeasy, java won't redirect to the results page icon_pale

no problem, i like to help Smile

disable your firewall during the test at speakeasy, sometimes Firewalls can block it.....

heya flywhiteguy Smile

your RWIN is in range for a 3 Mbps connection, i think you dropping packets beqause you was faster with a lower RWIN, however the loss is there and that makes it impossible to reach cap.

also test speed here

copy the text result and paste it here

http://nitro.ucsc.edu/

and make a new tweaktest and post link

Server Data reports link is '10 Gig', Server Acks report link is 'Ethernet'

Not sure if you needed all that, but there it is.  Tried to turn on pings before running tweak, but just switched to Outpost, turning on pings didn't haven't any effect.
