¡Hola!   <---that's hello in España (I live in Costa Rica you see).

Even though we'd all love to have blazing speed connections, one important aspect of dealing with DirecWay is their FAP (Fair Access Policy).  I only wish to point out that there is little advantage in having tremendous speeds when all it will do is bring you to your FAP Limit that much faster right?  Why sure it is!

For DW6000 users, the DW6000 has an internal 'cap' of around 1000 (give or take 200Fbps).  My Commercial Account is supposed to give me (at least) 1.5Mbps 'down' with a FAP of 800MB.  The fastest I've ever gone is a bit over 1100 ....and that was early today, yet on average I repeatedly pull a steady 1000Fbps ....and that's about the best you can expect with a DW6000.  The only real benefit to a higher priced account is that the FAP is higher, and if you DO happen to get FAP'ed, your 'bucket' will refill at double the rate (100Fbps per hour) instead of the usual 50 for lower priced accounts.

With regard to FAP ...don't be afraid to "push" it!  I've used nearly 2,000MB within a four-hour period time and time again.  Each time I was "subject" to a FAP, but I was never slapped with one.  Thus, don't be afraid to go over your limit by a bit.  And even if you do get FAP'ed, on average you'll find yourself back up to normal speed within an hour or less.  I know of nobody who has actually had to wait a full 12 hours while "under a FAP" ...(but it makes for a great scare tactic from the Techs at DirecWay).   evil6

We only live here once ...so LIVE!  (To hell with their FAP Threholds)!  angry5 The more people that push the limit, the more DWay is forced into making adjustments on their end to keep the traffic moving freely.  So don't let them BS you.  Smile  YOU actually have more control of them than vice-versa provided everyone works together (team-work) to keep the pressure on ...and that's the secret "behind the scenes" of how DirecWay is forced to conduct business.  Despite the way they love to treat you ...the customer still "rules."   ;)

Cheers!

It's me again Rev! Ummmmmmmmm I was fapped for a FULL 12 hours for slightly going over my fap, They did that in Dec to us, and man thought they would NEVER let it up. That same night we were fapped a second time for 3 hours, and no one was online, go figure. Just had to let you know, so now you do know someone who has been fapped a few times. lol

Good God,

It sounds like their systems just do not LIKE you!  lol....  Oh well ...there is always a first.  (and tonight you are bringing them all upon me).  rofl...

Cheers!

Since it happened twice, and especially since you were "hit" when there was no activity ...it really sounds like you were the victim of a glitch in their systems.  (The actual FAP information is stored in your DW4000 and DW6000!  With the DW4000, you only need to unplug it for a few minutes and it forgets everything about your usage.  However, there is no way to "trick" the DW6000.  Damn thing never forgets anything....
