HI Sheng
Sorry bout ure dsl. It's nothin to do with xp or sp2 or anythin like that.
First, check that u havent got spyware or trojans runnin in the background - these affect speed when accessing the net.
Have you enough memory and did you overclock your bios settings lately? These can all mess your pc and dsl speeds up.
Check with your phone or cable line that you have no line noise. They can adjust your settings their end to boost your connection speed.
Equipment and lengths of cabling and wiring in your home can reduce quality and dsl speed as well as packet loss and distance from the exchange you are using (I live in Ireland by the way and we use adsl broadband now. I have a very good connection and download speed here. Tweaked it a bit too)
After all that try using cablenut to tweak your registry settings but make sure you back up your registry first.
Here's a useful info site i found: www.dslmechanic.com/  and click on "speed problems".

Hope that helps cool
kano51

P.S dslreports has a useful tweaking service too, of course.

hey kano and welcome to the forum Smile

yea very good tips !

But the last thing he want is to mix diffrent tweak programs, that can mess things up even more.....

Cablenut offer the most powerful tweaking, also you dont need to backup any register like other crap programs on the net

the only thing you need to do with cablenut is to click "delete cablenut tweaks" and click save to registry, then your windows Default values will be loaded.

Infact you can use cablenut to clean up what other program leaves behind

Yea, .s1 there is nothing to do with SP2.. Before the SP2, the tracert also seems like that.. Hi kano51, my computer is spyware and virus free.. I running S&D, Lavasoft Ad-Aware, SpywareBlaster and Microsoft AntiSpyware.. Hmm.. I scan my pc almost everyday.. *Cheers*  ;)
My pc working with p4 2.4GHz, 384mb SDRAM and ya its enough for my pc background processing.. My cable is well wiring too..

Thanks for the help guys !  Smile

you have a very high ping to the US and will never reach your capped speed

but your settings is wrong....

If you have TCP optimizer program installed, i suggest to delete it.......

download http://www.dslreports.com/front/DRTCP021.exe

open Dr.TCP and where you see adaptersettings, erase any value set in MTU boxes and click apply.

Install cablenut http://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=64

Open cablenut, click delete cablenut tweaks + save to registry

reboot your pc and do a new speed and tweaktest
