I was told by my ISP company that testing the speed from the closest server to you would be the most accurate results.  Is this why like for instance when i run tests from DSL Replorts and select the florida server it gives me only around 6000, and your site gives me around 12 to 13mb.  Thats strange since im from SD and testmy.net is located in texas.  my isp has a speed test site located 60 miles from me and i always get 10 to 12mb with theres.

a lot depends on how close you are to the server, but alot depends on the quality of the test and how well it is writen as well as the backbone providers that carry the data to you.

the same thing happens with my ISPs speed test i get a lower result with them and a much faster one with testmy.net.
