I've done everything in the sticky .. Running WinXP Pro and Comcast Cable

I randomly chose one of Vanburens Cablenut settings .. for Cable XP because I didn't know which one to choose .. My utility program is System Mechanic 6 Pro * Highly reccomended*

Well here are my speeds ..

::::::::::.. testmy.net test results ..::::::::::
Download Connection is:: 17231 Kbps about 17.23 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB)
Download Speed is:: 2103 kB/s
Upload Connection is:: 307 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 579 kB)
Upload Speed is:: 37 kB/s
Tested From:: http://testmy.net (Server 1)
Test Time:: 2006/11/25 - 9:23am
D-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-6LAZM2UKE
U-Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/stats/id-6Y7R4XELU
User Agent:: Opera/9.01 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)

Any idea on how I could improve this?

Welcome to the forum Dragonbreak! (If I haven't all ready)

Your speeds look fine to me! Comcast if having major problems with their upload. I would reccomend you use TCP Optimizer. Which can be found here: http://www.speedguide.net/downloads.php   and here: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-1013

What are your advertised speeds first Dragonbreak. I would set the dial just a bit faster than what your advertised speed is. Then after a couple of days I would switch it every couple of days til I got it maximized. It takes 2-3 days to fully allow the settings to settle down. Say about 18,000 to start. And sometimes it helps to go lower than advertised.  Wink

By the way very nice speeds.  Very Happy

Hey guys, I was just messing around with my cablenut settings and I forgot which one I used to obtain the 17mbs DL speed like the above post. Now, I'm only getting about 2-9 mbs DL speed and it's really inconsistnent ..Any ideas on what I should do to get this back on track?

Also, Tommie, It seems as if ave Comcast rating *according to testmy.net* is 5526 Kbps. Im not sure what exactly Comcast is advertising but yeah ..
