So.. I didnt even know about this.. but I guess Sun released an Aero like GUI back in 2004 for open development and now it has matured to the point that is available for Linux, Solaris, and XP.  Pretty interesting stuff might want to check it out if you want a linux feel with Windows backend. 

The GUI runs on JAVA from what I can tell.
