First day on the site. ISP is advertised at 5100 Kbps and I'm coming in far short. Working on wireless router, and I am wondering if that is what is causing the slowdown? Here are my DL stats:

::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 2145 Kbps about 2.1 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB)
Download Speed is:: 262 kB/s
Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/
Bottom Line:: 38 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 3.91 second(s)
Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=6YQNMD0HA

My download is dismal...I am almost embarassed to post this...

::::::::::.. Upload Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 40 Kbps about 0 Mbps (tested with 97 KB)
Upload Speed is:: 5 kB/s
Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/
Bottom Line:: 1 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 204.8 second(s)
Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=VFYWBHSNE

What can I do to get some more speed?

hey Mayhem and welcome to the forum Smile

it might be a router issue, unplug router and connect direct from PC to modem, reboot your pc and modem leave modem off for 30 seconds and test speed again

if you still have speed problems, follow these steps in link below and make a new post

Done

7. Open Internet Explorer and select tools - internet options - connections - LAN settings, make sure nothing there is checked.

heya Mayhem Smile

did you use router while running tweaktest?

it might be a MTU issue with your router

this is from your tweaktest:Max packet sent (MTU): 1500 Max packet recd (MTU): 1300

Both suppose to be 1500

unplug router, reboot your modem for 30 seconds and reboot pc aswell then make a new tweaktest, and post result

I get the same results. Thoughts? Also, I dl'd CableNut, and your program. Do I update the Adjuster with your CCS?

have you used any other tweakprogram in the past?

download Dr.TCP http://www.dslreports.com/front/DRTCP021.exe

make sure it looks exactly like this screenshot, all MTU fields has to be blank, and click save

now open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry and reboot

make a new tweaktest and post result, dont use any router when doing this
