err...if anyone has dual boot xp and vista can they tell me the string for vista boot up i reinstalled XP on first partition and the boot.ini got destroyed and i could only accesss XP now

unable to give you the string, I don't use vista but this may help, its free and you may wanna hang on to it just in case. http://www.vistabootpro.org/

now i can only go on vista. grr..

o well. ill resize the partitions and just store S#!t on xp partition

its weird tho. i only have XP on the boot file and vista boots right away anyways. (vista dvd is not inside the drive if you were wondering)

i'll just use vista

you know any program that will format a partition to NTFS 3.01?

the ones i tried do it in 1.02 and i can't merge the vista partiton together because they're different NTFS versions.

i tried paragon partition manager and partition magic 8.0

i did it did the same thing.

but i got the retail version of paragon partition manager and it had a option to make it the same version. problem solved and partitions merged..
