Is that your best speeds?
Very basic help here..are you using a router? checked your signal strength? have you used the LCCU tweaks? enabled the proxy setting changes? changed your temp internet storage to 70mb? Also try clearing history, cookies, and temp internet files.
If you have done these things already you will have to wait for one if the more knowlegable people to respond. You should get about 1.2Mbps down your upload speed is average unless you have a commercial account.

I am using a Linksys 4 port router but I condusted the tests without connecting through the router.
Sorry, but I am both a Newbie and a Novice at most of this.
How do I check my signal strenght?
What are LCCU tweeks?
How do I enable the proxy setting changes?
I have cleared history and temp internet files.

After running the LCCU file configure IE in he following manner:
Launch Internet Explorer.
From the Menu click Tools and select Internet Options.
On the Connections tab, click LAN Settings to open the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog.
Verify that the Automatically detect settings and Use automatic configuration script boxes are NOT checked. If they are checked, uncheck them now.
Mark the check box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN.
Click Advanced.
Beside the HTTP protocol, enter 192.168.0.1 in the proxy address to use and enter 87 in the Port.
Under exceptions enter DirecWaysupport.com;192.168.0.1.
All other fields should be empty.
Make sure that Use same proxy server for all protocols is unchecked and that all other entries are blank.
Click OK.
Mark the check box next to Bypass proxy server for local addresses.
Click OK to close the Proxy Settings dialog.
Click OK to close the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog.
Click OK to close the Internet Options.
Note: not to sure about setting up for use with the router.
Also under general IE settings: change the temp internet setting to use only 70MB
Under advanced IE settings click the box to use http1.1 (just the first one)

I am having trouble downloading and running the LCCU.
I saved it to both my hard drive and a floppy disk but cannot get past the unzip screen that says "2 files unzipped successfully"
I can't get it to run.
I even tried running it from an MS-DOS prompt.

Those are superior upload speeds...do you have a commercial account? What is your signal strength?.......you can find that by going to the Dway system control, then click on the
green light
.

Thanks, I did get the LCCU to run - same problem as you.
I don't have a commercial account, just a regular one.
My signal strength is fluctuating at 91-92.
Thanks for your help!

Unreal
compared to mine....upload dropped from 40Kbps early today..... currently looking at 12Kbps at the moment.
Might have to peak my signal out. That is the only thing I have not tweaked on! Most likely will wait until it warms up temps are near zero outside. I hear Hughes will soon have another toy out soon called Spaceway supposed to be much faster up and down....price unknown. Wonder if there going to take trade ins? The link will take you to the article.

I guess that I don't know how to read the
www.testmy.net
results.
I see that my DW downloads/uploads are on the very low end of the averages.
In Texas I used to have Comcast cable which was "lighting" fast, maybe I am just super spoiled and will never get used to DW.

Not sure what to tell you there exactly, does not seem to be no single one answer...just as the upload speed difference. From what I have read and seen in different forums your upload speed is excellent and if your downloads stay around 1Mbps your better than average there as well for a
DW6000
on a home account. Some say there downloads fall below 200Kbps even if FAP is not an issue for them....at night the same system and dish pointing's works fine...(go figure on that one.) Keep in mind the higher speed post using DirecWay you can almost bet they either have a commercial account (which get first dibs at BW) or are using a DW4000 which is able to accept many more tweaks....so they are much faster! Don't forget about the FAP policy as well....if you get to fast and download above your hourly limits.....DW have the right to pull the E-brake for awhile which would not impress one to say the least.

Fikestar:
Thanks for all of your help!
And yes I have been in touch with The Reverend and have tried his fixes.
My speeds are up but not where I want to be.
I would kill to have Comcast Cable here on our barrier island!
Thanks Again!
