::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 2723 Kbps about 2.7 Mbps (tested with 1496 KB)
Download Speed is:: 332 kB/s
Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/
Test Time:: Sat Jan 29 14:10:13 CST 2005
Bottom Line:: 49X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3.08 sec
Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/id-BSU507ZN3

1. I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a 3.0 GHz, 512 MB RAM Dell Dimension 4700 desktop.
2. I have Comcast cable internet, advertised download speed is 3.0 Mbps.
3. Cable modem is a Motorola SB4100.
4. I don't have any tweaks installed.
5. I connect via onboard ethernet.
6. I don't have any spyware or viruses.

I've run the testmy.net test several times, and I consistently get 2.5-2.8 Mbps download speed. I was getting over 3.0 Mbps on my old computer. Can I make it a little faster?

download this attached file, unzip it to C:\Program\Cablenut

open cablenut adjuster, in top left corner click file, click load custom settings file, browse to C:\Program\Cablenut and dubbleclick on the file you unzipped

now click save to registry

reboot, also reboot your modem for 30 seconds

make a new tweaktest and post result URL and make speedtest again

VanBuren, I don't think it made my connection any faster. I ran the testmy.net test several times and all results were less than 2.7 Mbps.

::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 2623 Kbps about 2.6 Mbps (tested with 1496 KB)
Download Speed is:: 320 kB/s
Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/
Test Time:: Sat Jan 29 2005 20:30:22 GMT-0600 (Central Standard Time)
Bottom Line:: 47X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3.2 sec
Validation Link:: http://testmy.net/id-X6ONPAMS0

Here's my tweaktest results:
http://ttester.broadbandreports.com/tweak/block:35c20ee?service=cable&speed=3000&os=winXP&via=normal

I think my computer is a little slower after running the program. It seems to take a second or two longer to open programs. Is there a way for me to undo the changes made?

Sad Your computer has the guts to go faster but I think your ISP is stopping you, at 3Mbps you should be able to get 90% of that but if the ISP isn't giving you all your bandwidth then you just wont go faster Sad  DSL reports that your  setup is OK so that leaves your ISP..... I have my system set at the same numbers as you do and changing them has no effect on speed but does slow down web page loading at least 4me it does. on this  puter  it may be possible to get a little more we shall see....... good luck

giving up already?

i havent even begun to help you get speed, there is no tweak that fits all, you need to finetune sometimes

ppl that been around here should know that  ;)

all you need to do is open cablenut and click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry and reboot, then windows default settings is loaded

however i modifyed the file abit, and if you like to give it a shot here it is....

Let's keep trying to make it faster. I tried the new tweak, and it seems like my speed improved a tiny bit. I tested several times and all were in the 2.7-2.8 Mbps range. I tested on testmy.net when I first got my computer 2 weeks ago, and it was a little over 3.0 Mbps. Don't know why it slowed down a little.

::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 2796 Kbps about 2.8 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB)
Download Speed is:: 341 kB/s

Bottom Line:: 50X faster than 56K 1MB download in 3 sec

 ;) Giving up on you??? never its just with his PC it should already be screaming before tweaks, it looks like the ISP has turned down the flow on the pipe, But there is no doubt in my mind if its possible to make it faster that you can and will do it.....IMHO it just looks like this one is suffering from a choke hold from his ISP....... VanBuren everyone knows that when it comes to "tweaking" that ......u da man..... Smile

thanks Microwave  Very Happy

when it comes to tweaking internet connections i have a very big patience, almost too big  Laughing

i want to squeeze out every bit possible  ;)

the only tweaks i have some problems with right now is AFD tweaks with DSL, im still working on them and i will help if somone wants to try em out.

the DSL tweaks in Version 3 is based on the old way to tweak without AFD change, it works but will never give the same boost.
