I'm using a Terayon TJ700 series modem that I rent from Adelphia, and I was wondering if anyone used anything different or if a different modem may be a decent investment.  Thanks.

Ive used the Moterola Surboard SB5200 and they are really good I have never had to replace it and I have never had any problems. When you restart it . it has a fast connection time.

I would buy a dlink or linksys modem.. they seem to be fairly stable along with the motorola version that reno was talking about.. My guess is that you have already "bought" the modem in rent fees alone..  You can usually get the modems for dirt cheap with rebates or even if you sign up for a new service... If you contract is nearing its end you might want to look into this!
