      tickedoff           tickedoff           tickedoff           tickedoff           tickedoff

Take a few moments and read this letter. These are strong, powerful and courageous words coming from a
retired colonel, and read what Lincoln had to say at the end.

Subject: 33 Senators Voted Against English as America 's Official Language June 6, 2007
On Wed, 6 Jun 2007 23:35:23 -0500, 'Colonel Harry Riley USA ret' wrote:
   ==============================
    Senators,
Your vote against an amendment to the Immigration Bill, 1348, to make English America's official language is astounding. On D-Day no less when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock character and principles of America . I can only surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.

I don't much care where you come from, what your religion is, whether you're black, white or some other color, male or female, democrat, republican or independent, but I do care when you're a United States Senator, representing citizens of America and vote against English as the official language of the United States.

Your vote reflects betrayal, political surrender, violates your pledge of allegiance, dishonors historical principle, rejects patriotism, borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator...impeachment, recall, or other appropriate action is warranted.

Worse, four of you voting against English as America 's official language are presidential candidates: Senator Biden , Senator Clinton ,        Senator Dodd , and Senator Obama .

Four Senators vying to lead America but won't or don't have the courage to cast a vote in favor of English as America 's official language when 91% of American citizens want English officially designated as our language.

This is the second time in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as political hacks......
unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualified to serve as President of the United States.

If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a back-lash so stunning it will literally rock you out of your panties...
and preferably totally out of the United States Senate.

The entire immigration bill is a farce...your action only confirms this really isn't about America , it's about self-serving politics ...despicable at best.

    Bayh (D-IN)
Biden (D-DE) Wants to be President?
    Bingaman (D-NM)
    Boxer (D-CA)
    Cantwell (D-WA)
Clinton (D-NY) Wants to be President?
    Dayton (D-MN)
Dodd (D-CT) Wants to be President?
Domenici (R-NM) Coward, protecting his Senate seat..
    Durbin (D-IL)

    Feinstein (D-CA)
    Harkin (D-IA)
    Inouye (D-HI)
    Jeffords (I-VT)
    Kennedy (D-MA)
Kerry (D-MA) Wanted to be President
    Kohl (D-WI)
    Lautenberg (D-NJ)
    Leahy (D-VT)
    Levin (D-MI)
    Lieberman (I-CT) Disappointment here.....
    Menendez (D-NJ)
    Mikulski (D-MD)

Obama (D-IL) Wants to be President?
    Reed (D-RI)
    Reid (D-NV) Senate Majority Leader
    Salazar (D-CO)
    Sarbanes (D-MD)
    Schumer (D-NY)
    Stabenow (D-MI)

That's not voting against English, that's voting against excluding other languages. I do not doubt that, like me, it is the exclusion implied that bothered these Senators. If I am not mistaken, one has the right to be served in English anywhere in the US, so where's the problem for you English speakers?

About Lincoln's quote:
1. I do not see in that vote an action that damages morale or undermine the military
2. "during wartime" is pretty much all the time; there were only 2 years in my life when the US were not at war with some country or some foreign organization, so I guess that anything that criticizes the military becomes treason, thereby greatly diminishing the impact value of such a word.

I like your jokes EWO, but I'l have to disagree with your political views. And I think not a retired colonel to be the best adviser on the politics of language.

I as usual disagree with your canadian french views also Le_Murphant.

And the only reason I do not say more is you on here are allowed your own opinion. But us americans see it totally different. Unlike canadians totally. But then again you actually are still not sure what patriotism is anyway.

So in all actuality, I am not surprised by your statement at all.

But I say that it is a fair statement to say most Americans need to feel the way they do.

And it appears because of the way we feel as Americans, that you are also allowed the freedom to say as you wish. Good day.

Al least someone has the guts to defend your rights. (that colonel you speak of included. So what was your silly question again?  azn

I'll be damned, my senator voted properly also. Good girl.  Very Happy

Plus I am getting sick and damned tired of "Please press one for English" Bastages.  tickedoff

Thank you, Roco.  I for one like hot tea very much.
But I have to buy it to make it. If ya'll still control the tea
plantations please take note.  We will, of course, try not to
use the accent that is associated with ya'll's speaking of the Queen's English..
Thanks again for your approval of our use of the language.
Pardon my use of the word "YA'LL" but that is our accent down here.

Unlike others here, I voice my opinion willfully as a real American should!    To hell with the anti-American leftist , socialistic wimps.  America is a melting pot of all of us! All! we all spoke something , or our ancestors did, now, We (Americans) speak English .  Did ya catch that little dot after the word English?

I see you, Le_Murphant are still subscribing the extreme left winged perspective. You have a good head on your shoulders, I for one would like to see you use it for your self, instead of a "jizm" (spunk, ejaculate)  dump for the communistic pukes that call themselves professors, and editors. Wink

k well for all those senators out there that voted against this...how would it be if they all had to sit thru their meetings presented in anything other than english...the way i look at it...what ever language that the government meetings are presided in is the official language of the land...that goes for any government in any country...

roco...what language does the queen give her speeches in??...that's ur official language...

to me the day our president gives a state of the union address in anything other than english is dooms day...for this country...cuz that's the day it will all have been taken too far...

as for me i will continue to refuse to press #1 for english and will take my business elsewhere from any business that tries to force me to do so...and i will continue to write my objections to the heads of those companies...

if u speak another language...that's fantastic and i will uphold ur right to do so...and i want u to be able to hear the msg in ur language that u understand best...but i just want u to have to push #1 to hear it in that language...as a matter of fact i want u to have to press #1 to hear a list of other languages that u can hear it in Smile a list of about 20 so we don't leave anyone out...cuz i'm completely against discrimination...
but that's just me and my stubborn opinion... smiley smitten

and speaking of discrimination...i'm also against men being able to run around without shirts while women not only have to wear shirts at all times but we also have to wear these binding gadgets...now from where i sit...many times there is no difference between a womans shirtless chest and a man's (this goes both ways...in extremes)...a nipple is a nipple is a nipple...a titty roll is a titty roll or lack there of...and i've seen bellies of both sexes jiggling around out from under a shirt of either sex...now what's the diff between that roll and a titty roll...or for that matter the giggle giggle of someone's underarm...huh??...oh sorry oops...that was my rant 35 years ago...forgot for a moment where i was  Embarassed  evil6

Oh we have no problem with immigration , we just adopt the good old English ways and move on
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/main.jhtml?xml=/travel/2007/08/23/nemigrate123.xml

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23373110-details/Exodus:+A+million+Brits+emigrate+while+three+million+enter/article.do

It's what the English have allways done , "Hello America "  ,  we don't have the same patriotic fervor that you have in America , I not saying this is right or wrong , just the way it is

Tdawnaz I did read all of your topic , well I fully agree with you about the topless,
in my younger years I campained long hard to give women that right ,  evil6
and now today it is acceptable on most of Britains beaches , but this has created unforeseen problems with immigrant Eskimo's running up and down the beach with harpoons and shouting "There she blows  "
