I know. It sucks too because i wanted to come back full fledged and redeem my title after seeing this old place.. Makes me remember what i loved about testmy.net before i was banned for a year without reasoning... I was wanting to be part of this place again but it doesnt seem to be happening... What do we have... 3? ... 4 active people on the new forums? Unless you have something up your sleeve D to turn this around, than please tell me; because im back & here again.
I think you were banned for a misunderstanding.
Unrelated to your situation but one of the problems with the old way we had to do things was that bans were having to be passed around like candy... our new system has better ways of managing spammers and alerting about posts made.
... But dude, if the forums don't have any activity now... with as much traffic as testmy.net gets... the forums are most likely dead forever. Unless the public changes their online habits again.
I don't have any tricks up my sleeve, ever. I just build what the public wants and/or needs. The internet has been loud and clear, I listen to visiting trends and visitor habits... and what I've heard is, "Damon, we still love the tests... but we're done with the forum." --- I'm friends with a few other website owners who have (had) popular forums. They're seeing the same thing.
This isn't isolated, allot of websites are having to re-invent themselves. With the rise of major social media all the smaller forums
(and once you get to facebook/myspace status everything smaller) got gobbled up as the publics habits changed. As a web publisher you just have to change with the times. It's always there and really... now... it has every feature that people could have ever wanted back when this version of the site was online.
... Oh well, at least people are still testing their internet.
I'm hoping that oldtestmy.net picks up some traffic. This version is still a really good speed testing utility. I wouldn't have thrown it online if I didn't think it was still useful.

... v11.2 is more accurate for my connection speed because of the larger file sizes but v6.12 still gets the job done, very quickly I might add.
