Firewall used - Kaspersky anti hacker (tried Sygate but after I install Sygate my connection simply freezes, even if I set allow all trafic or even after I close the firewall)

Ran CC Cleaner, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware SE, Kaspersky antivirus - all clear Smile

hey arlechinu and welcome to the forum Smile

that traceroute dosent look good

sign up here and make a linequality test http://www.dslreports.com/tools

disable firewall during test, or config it to allow ICMP traffic

"Line Packet Loss Testing
Packet loss tests on your line, including identification of any problem routers en-route to you.."

its free

when you see result, copy URL adress and paste it here so we can see it

allright... here's the reply i got from my isp...

quote:
"i took a look at those links too. i think you should do more research before you claim stuff like that. first of all lots of packets are blocked by the server at those tests. seconda of all, usa is quite a long way from here, it is normal you should have a larger ping"

dunno, i'm not a networking expert, but this sounds like BS Razz can anyone here with some more experience with these things help me out? please... is there any truth in what he's saying or is he simply stupid? Very Happy help me out with a reply for this guy Smile

thanx!

there is a routing issue between your ISP and node 9 and 10 and that is something your ISP should be aware of...

make a new traceroute now and lets see if it changed

First its the 4th hop problem, then the 7th. Im beginning to think its not the hops at all.  Meaning, you have somethign drawing from your overall upload bandwidth which causes ping spikes  at random times. Have you checked for viruses or spyware or ANY other programs that could be drawing from your bandwidth?

heres an example.

tracert with all bandwidth free:

do you have a router arlechinu?

if so bypass it and connect your NIC direct to modem

also update your NIC driver

now make a new traceroute

just pinged this node 100 times

6     *      257 ms    74 ms  r01-Gi6-0.ora1.ro.gtsce.net [193.226.187.25]

and no loss for me

Ping-statistik för 193.226.187.25:
    Paket: Skickade = 100, mottagna = 100, Förlorade = 0 (0 %),
Ungefärligt överföringstid i millisekunder:
    Lägsta = 82 ms, Högsta = 83 ms, Medel = 82 ms

so it must be something, NIC, router or bad wire that cause this loss
