A while back I seen a post you made with some cablenut settings, I am on Adelphia's basic Cable internet, which I am pretty positive is 3000/256 and was just wondering if you had some settings that you could recommend.

Thanks

ok then you can try some of my old tweaks, the latest is made to work best with SP2

download this attached file (Cable & DSL 3000 256.zip ), unzip it to C:\Program\Cablenut

open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry, in top left corner click file, load custom settings file,  browse to C:\Program\Cablenut and dubble click on the file you unzipped.

now click save to registry and reboot

check speed again, use the 2992 KB testfile for download and 1496KB testfile upstream, also make a new tweaktest and post result

good luck

then reload the file i posted before, seems like your maxed out then

do you have a router?

If so always connect with 100 Mbps full duplex at your NIC

and if you dont have a router, connect direct to modem, use 10 Mbps half duplex

I reloaded the file, getting about same results as before (around 2700)

I do not have a router, I'm connected directly to my modem via cat5 cable.

I tried to change my NIC to 10mb Half Duplex, but it wouldn't work. Couldn't get any connection. But it works fine with 10mb or 100mb full, but neither of the half duplex settings work, have any idea why this would be?

I am using a broadcom 440x integrated network adapter Confused

that was odd, never heard that before

i suggest you try both 100 full, 10 full and Auto and see what gives you best speed
