Greetings all...

I've been on DSL for about a year now and wish to increase it's performance. I've downloaded the CABLENUT tool and followed their instructions for using their DSL settings. It didn't seem to make much of a difference in my speeds (download 1273 Kbps) (upload 116 Kbps), but being a novus at this... I'm reluctant to making any manual changes by myself. Are there any ideas that somebody would be willing to share?

Thanks in advance for your assistance and thoughts!

cool Smile

unplug power to your modem for 30 full seconds and plug it in again, that makes it load a new modem config file, you might be stuck with the 1.5 Mbps setup i dunno

run this test

http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks

when you get result, copy whole URL adress and paste it here so we can see it

i assume you have cablenut installed

download this attached file (DSL PPPoE 3000 768.zip ), unzip it to C:\Program\Cablenut

open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry, in top left corner click file, load custom settings file,  browse to C:\Program\Cablenut and dubble click on the file you unzipped.

now click save to registry and reboot

check speed again, use the 2992 KB testfile for download and 1496KB testfile upstream, also make a new tweaktest and post result

good luck

Also, my computer has always been plugged in directly to the modem Verizon sent me. No router between the connection.

you have a MTU conflict follow these steps exactly

download this program and open it http://www.dslreports.com/front/DRTCP021.exe

make sure all is set to default and the MTU fields must be blanked out for all network adapters, click apply and exit

now open cablenut adjuster, click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry

now reboot your pc and your modem, leave modem off for 30 seconds

run this test again http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks  copy and paste result URL  adress in your post
