Point System
«
on:
February 16, 2005, 01:12:06 PM »
Im subscribed to a few other forums but this one I go to has a Karma system which is pretty much points that are givin to users that help. I think it would be a cool idea to have something like this here seeing alot of people offer help. In other words points would be givin to the person that finalizes the help that is asked, or any info that help, but only givin by the thread starter

Well it was more leading to the idea of showing whose gave the most help and how much, possibly show their skill level?

Well i can agree with that ,but you'd have to have a place for not only those who give the final advice that works, but also for those who helped along the way, and i think that would be an arbitray thing. I'm not saying it can't work, but have to figure a way to include all. ;)

The karma system worked here for about, then.... well some unfortunate things happeded that led to the karma's demise.

Hi all: It seemed like the karma caused some members to think they were being disrespected if they got negative karma. So it caused problems. So for my 2 cents worth I was glad to see it go.Members usually get a thank you when they help someone anyway.
What more do you need?

i think it would be a decent system if there was no way to cheat or hack it, and it was fair, but thats almost impossible
Oh well
