But I have seen people on here with much faster connection for the same cost that I pay which is around $55. When I get back to Houston I'll have to test the speed of mycable modem there. We have AOL at home and I'm in Pine Bluff, Arkansas so I can somwhat see why.

AOL usually piggybacks on to  High Speed Internet. Its not its own isp with the connection, unless you're talking about Dialup.

Now why would you waste your time with that...

Go to http://www.testmy.net/bandwidth_quote.html put in your information and get a real time quote of all the providers in your area... their speeds and prices ~~ I promise you won't be disapointed Smile

Smile I think what we are all saying is if you can do it the only way to surf is broadband and alot of us use our cable TV company's,mine is Cox~hsi which happens to be the co. that ca3le guy works fo....So he is the guy with the real scoop on broadband. I pay $39.95per month which is about twice the amount as most dial up....but there is no comparison to the speeds 56K v 488K  which is faster than I pay for.....I pay for  3000/256....wow more than 71 times faster than the BEST dial up....pretty cool huh!!

I tried to you that thing that The Cable Guy was talking about, but i think it used my current ISP which is in a whole different state. I don't know but that seemed slow too. Maybe I am just with the wrong ISP.

Is Earthlink any good? Or what services at what rates seems to be the best?

man, all of you are getting ripped  wink

I pay $38 dollars a month for Adelphia Powerlink Cable internet. (I already am paying for cable TV, so since I am buying both, I get a good deal)

these speeds are faster than anything I have ever seen on anything, (that isn't T1 or above) I have full bragging rights  Laughing

sorry, I'm behind a constant firewall,
