Has anyone found that switching to a newer ethernet adapter speeds up your connection? I'm currently using the onboard lan, very ancient, and am considering upgrading to a newer pci adapter. Could this make a difference even though my card is already operating at 100Mbps/full duplex?

You wont notice any real difference unless your home netwrking.  The integrated one in my comp was about 4 years old before i bought my pci, not a difference at all.

Thanks for the info. And how about the modem? I'm using an old Linksys befcmu10. I couldn't find anything about bandwidth caps for this one and Linksys hasn't had updated firmware since I've had it (over 3 years).
