Well, it seems that Bellsouth has been getting alot of complaints from it's X-treme package customers because they were only averaging about 2.5 megabits at best in most cases. They attributed this to the overhead of the connection....

Apparently they finally decided to do something about it. About a week or so ago, my modem re-synced  to 3552 kbits/sec (It was like 3008 before) and that gave me about another half a megabit..... I used to get about 2500 kbits a second on this test site, and now I can consistantly get 3022 kbits a sec and sometimes a little higher....

Any other Bellsouth customers notice these changes as well?

not sure but i believe sync refers to signal present on your phone line, i'll check  with our dsl techs tomorrow.
