Insane speed on 6mbit Comcast

I always test at about 6.2mbit with my 6000/768 Comcast Cable... but tonight... something crazy happened.

Connection is:: 9280 Kbps about 9.3 Mbps (tested with 3151 kB)
Download Speed is:: 1133 kB/s
Tested From:: http://www.bafserv.com
Test Time::
Bottom Line:: 166X faster than 56K 1MB download in 0.9 sec
Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 184.92 % faster than the average for host (attbi.com)

My cache was cleared and it was a clean run I just decided to do because I was bored. I ran it again and I was back to normal. I don't know what happened there. Maybe Comcast was testing for a higher speed and at the exact moment I ran a speed test? Who knows... any ideas?

There is no telling what Comcast was doing... but it must have been something considering the cap on the 6meg package is 6.8m and you were clearly higher than that.

It was tested from "http://www.bafserv.com" , this site most of the time is pretty good, but is known for cached results. May be what happened to you.

I never get accurate results from that site. They are usually lower than what I have.

Yeah, I got results like that the other day. At first I was trippin' out, but then I chalked it up as being a cached test. Although, I always clear out my temporary internet files and history before testing. I just couldn't come up with any other explanation for it.
