California, USA, low octane by the interstate = $3.09 USD per gallon
lowest low octane in the county = $2.93
low octane with competing gas stations = $2.79 gallon (i cross a county line on my comute and ONLY pay this much)
high octane by the interstate about $3.30 gallon
diesel, about $3.40 gallon
So 40 mile round trip to school every weekday. Lets say 27 miles per gallon. School uses 7.4 gallon a week at nearly $3.00 per gal.
