Finally got my DS3 with BGP turned up.. Here is the results...

Connection is:: 11080 Kbps about 11.1 Mbps (tested with 20972 kB)
Download Speed is:: 1353 kB/s
Tested From:: http://matrixau.net
Test Time:: 
Bottom Line:: 198X faster than 56K 1MB download in 0.76 sec
Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 68.78 % of your hosts average (48.30)

I pay 2690 from MCI/UUNet.  Im in southern Alabama, but the DS3 comes across an OC3 Interconnect to the Bellsouth Pensacola CO.

Also to be noted, it was the fastest testmy mirror I could find. I have actually downloaded from some mirrors at about 35Mbit/s

Yeah, 45Mbit full duplex, it is a steal at $2,690.00.  I'll post another speed test in the fall when I turn up my second DS3.  Smile

Wow! In the fall? Are you in the states? If so, fall is like 5 months away. That's a long time to wait in order to see what your line can do.

It seems like you would pull way more than 11.1 Mbps from a 45Mbps pipe. VanBuren has 10000/10000 and he puts up amazing scores from overseas. Hmmmm...

I can't seem to find a speedtest with enough bandwidth to test properly.  11Mbit is from the shaneAU mirror of testmy.net.

I can't really go out and buy a second DS3 until I use some of this one.. It will be post-summer before I fill up this one.. Once we start pushing IP Video and SIP traffic, I will have a need for another one.

This DS3 is at my office, but I am GigE from my office to my house.

Upload results were:

But I think that my pipe isnt the limiting factor.  Try going to www.smarttelco.com and clicking the smartspeed thing on the left. That will run the testmy mirrored from my servers.

This place has enough speed to more accurately test my line.  The results there are always in the 35-40Mbit range
