WOW this is amazing!  I have never seen a similar utility (tcp optimizer) actually make a noticable difference!  if you have and mozilla based browser, this little utility is a must have!!! here it is >http://download.softpedia.com:8080/TWEACK/moz_opt.zip

well that link i posted worked for me.  here is another one that should work.  it will bring you to a different download site this time.
and remember when you open it, since it is an executable, you need to click and drag it out of the zip folder!

since we are on this subject here is an interesting little article... looks like IE's popularity went down a little in June of this year... The first time in over a decade... It fell from 95.48% of all personal computer world wide to 94.42%... The main reason.. security and Netscape and other open source variants... Like Firefox... which by the way hit an all time record for the program with a little over 200,000 download per day from download.com ...  O by the way the Apple people dont use IE any more... They use some wacky program called Safari... Now there is an original name...

"Honey, what are you doing on the G5 right now?"
"I am on a Safari.."

Hell I think microsoft should rename IE the "Great Adventure with tons of security holes and bottom less pit of popups"  That would attract people to download it.. Laughing

IE is not secure, and is crap.  I will never use it again.  Too many damn holes.

Oh, and I did this tweak myself last month.

Well I never see any security problems because I run Symantec Client Security... it has made my internet browsing much more enjoyable and basically blocks out everything but the real content of the pages I am requesing... it's very smart too.

I have ran it for about 2 months now and had only a couple of spyware/adware bugs reported from Adaware since ~~ I see almost NO advertisments anymore, and if an ad does get through... and bugs me, I can add them to my library and never have to see it again Smile  ~

You can see more here >> http://enterprisesecurity.symantec.com/products/products.cfm?ProductID=154  --- it's a killer program

Just the plain internet security from Nortan does a good job with ads and popups... I have yet to see anything to make me want to remove this program...  I am not a big mac fan but that is ok... I love the g5 case!! Shocked  That is one impressive computer!! I think that linux does the same if not more for people that Apple does for the mac world... I will say that MAC is undoubtly the leader in video editing and photo rendering... Just to watch what quick time can do is really impressive

Firefox is faster here for me.

I also had trouble with Norton, and don't like that either.  Currently, my PC is totally screwed, and I will probably have to reformat, thanks to people not knowing anything about computers, and using IE.  Won't get into it here.

I read some where that it is recommended that every 6 months you reformat... I believe that the microsoft people redo their entire computer every month or so... just to keep them running smooth... Now I dont know how Microsoft can expect grandma to figure out the difference between ntfs and fat32 then expect them to find all the drivers that they need to make their computer work like they originally had it...  The only thing that really works for me is ghosting a computer... reinstall the os and then make a iso copy of the hard drive... that way when things are running slow and you want a fresh start you pop in the cd copy it over and boom you have a new computer...  Here is the general idea... http://www.iamnotageek.com/showthread.php?threadid=5533
