My ping to my inernet provider is average 62...

THIS IS TERRIBLE, in my opinion, as in Half-Life 1, I get average pings of mostly 130 on my favorite servers, and that's a .9 second delay which turning corners, and landing on a mine with out ever seeing it is NOT cool.

I'm the only one with this ping problem, and I need it fixed.

I understand I can not really get it fixed with tweaks, but there is nothing I can do... and I REALLY think there's something wrong with that seeing as I can SEE my ISP from here!!!

I wonder if repair would have a price tag on it, and would it actually be worth it or not.

Verizon FiOS rules you, btw.

Anything at all on this would be appreciated.

where did you get .9 seconds from?
call your ISP and complain, it sounds like bad wires...
also, click start-run-cmd, type pathping testmy.net and post back

I also figured out that I am in a constant war with some dumb BLEEP, trying to put trojans on my computer.

I will admit, he's pretty good to be able to get through all the firewalls I've tested.

Description of what's happening : A process known as wl.exe runs then shuts down just as fast and loads a trojan every few seconds, now allowing me to cancel it. The file does not exist on my system, and in My Documents there is constantly new files with the names, hax.exe, etc.

And in My Downloads folder, every time I go in there, my anti-virus AVG, goes haywire over a file that's not in there called games.zip.exe

I have not done a search on these symptoms, but I'll see about getting to that later.

If anyone knows of free firewalls, something that'll block the ability to ping my system, etc. Please post away.

Bump,

Nothing is working so far, a direct connection between my modem and my computer gives me a 2 point difference, and there's nothing wrong with any of my computers, I made sure of that and tested it with each having the same results.

It's 62 to testmy.net, my original scores before this were 20 to 40.

I e-mailed them asking about pricing to see if they can check my line, but of course no response!

Anyone know that kind of information for Verizon?
