Hi, i currently have rogers and im looking to switch to 3web hi speed gold cable service, i live in toronto canada (peel regiond)

Should i rent the modem and is it reliable?

I personally would look for a cable modem certified under DOCSIS 2.0. You can probably get one for around $80 or cheaper if you look around.
