So, i called adelphia tech support and asked about the 'Extreme' internet service. I called into billing/questions department and aksed them, they then transferred me to the Technical something or other and said i have no information on that, let me transfer you back to billing. So I explained it to the new lady who answered the phone, explained what i was asking(for the 3rd time), when will extreme be available to me, to which she replies: 'I'm sorry sir, but I have never heard of this extreme internet you are asking about. As far as I know, there is no such thing even in devlopment'. That kinda twerped me off, but oh well. I asked them about the premier service, she said anywhere our high speed internet is available, premier is available(what about in Peurto Rico?) and she told me it was an extra $17 a month. I'm not sure if that is correct, but oh well. And just as a side note, i was also told this is a whole new tier, with the preferred and premier still going to stay the same.

Ah yes, it's déjà vu all over again, as a famous yogi once said.  I got the same kind of responses several months ago when I called to inquire about the higher speeds for the Premier and Preferred services in the San Diego area, the addition of a Basic service, and lower pricing.  All of that was spelled out in an article in the "San Diego Union-Tribune" and attributed to some Adelphia representative.  No one I spoke to knew anything about the new services nor pricing.  A few days later, the Preferred service downloading speed was changed from 3 to 4 Mbps, and the Premier was changed from 4 Mbps tp 6 Mbps.  I've never seen anything more about lower prices.  However, one of the incompetent technicans who came to my residence said the lower pricing was true.  Since then, we've been told about the new Extreme service, which is advertised along with the new version of the Preferred service at:

http://www.adelphia.com/extreme

Speaking of Adelphia's "tiers", they should spell that "tears".  Tears is all customers get from talking to Tier 1 and 2 personnel.  Tier 3 doesn't talk to customers and apparently not even to Tiers 1 nor 2.  I believe Tier 3 is engineering, but I'd have to follow the money trail and speak with Deep Throat to know for sure.
