Yes your read correctly... There is going to be a wireless router that supports dial up.. Who the hell would want to do this.. I have no idea but here is the rest of the article:

Always On Wireless today launched a portable 802.11b router that supports dialup and broadband Internet connections.

The pocket-sized [3.15” x 1.00”x 5.10” (80 x 25.4 x 129.5 mm)], 6 ounce WiFlyer sports an integrated V.92 modem and 10Mbps Ethernet port and has "thousands" of U.S. access telephone numbers for leading dialup service providers built-in (but doesn't support NetZero or Juno). Dialup speeds can also be accelerated via existing speed boosters or WiFlyer's Accelerator software.

Wireless security is provided via 128bit WEP encryption with WPA support scheduled in Q4 via a firmware upgrade.

The WiFlyer will be available in Q4 for a retail price of $149.95.

I know that I am not going to pay $150 for a freakin router with a dialup modem onboard..

It would only be able to support 1 user at a time.. I have tired putting dial up over my wireless... It was slow as hell and not worth the time..

Shocked Yeah!!  When it was first possible I used my mobile phone to go on Internet I think just so I could say I did it...lol.... but it was pretty lame and terrible connection that kicked me several times and was sooo slow.... But I was able to do it ......for what reason I dont know....lol, and I haven't tried it since.... But  I think in an emergency it is a way to communicate.

I think it is just to say that you have done it.. Otherwise what would the point be? It is fun to experiment..
