::::::::::.. Upload Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 246 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB)
Upload Speed is:: 30 kB/s
Tested From::
http://testmy.net/
(server1)
Test Time:: Wed Aug 3 04:30:15 EDT 2005
Bottom Line:: 4X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 34.13 sec
Diagnosis: Looks Great : 11.31 % faster than the average for host (ntlworld.com)
Validation Link::
http://testmy.net/stats/id-MSLY02K5O
I want to tweak my upload to make it better, but have no idea how to.
I'm using Windows XP SP2.
ISP is NTL.
My modem is the one NTL supplied me with, which is a SpeedTouch USB ADSL modem.
What should I do? Buy a new modem, if so, what one? Blah.
EDIT: Almost forgot. On Dr SpeedTouch, it says my connection speed is (up/down) 288/2.272Kbps..

It's suppose to be "nearly 40x faster than dial-up".

Did you just get the service? If not, has your speed slowed down or stayed the same? What is your ISPs advertised speed?

Fairly recently - about a month. My NTL package is the 2mb one, so the advertised download speed is 2Mbps. And the network connection reading (default Windows taskbar one) says my speed (download) is 2.2Mbps. Before I moved to NTL, I had 516k, and I don't feel much of a difference right now. So, what I want is to try and improve both my upload and download speed. Should I buy a new modem?
I'm about to set up a wired & wireless network. My current modem will be connected to a D-Link Wireless Gaming Router, which will be connected to my computer via a cat5e cable. The other PC will have a D-Link PCI card for wireless.

I would talk to your tech support. I'm not familiar with your ISP. Being DSL, your speed is affected by your distance from the "central office". You say it's a USB ADSL modem...does it not have an ethernet port? Ethernet is a better to use vs. USB.

It does have an ethernet port, yes. But that's connected to the phone socket via a cat5e wire. The other wire, which is a USB wire, is soldered right on to the modem.
