hey rob

That is good for cable but.......

You need to know what speed your ISP says you have both upstream and downstream.

If you are on a 4000/512 Kbps package, you probl need to tweak to get above 90% of your capped speed.

Here you can see the speed of other Comcast users

http://www.dslreports.com/archive/Comcast.net

If you decide to tweak, follow my tweakguide here

http://testmy.net/forumz/viewtopic.php?t=605

good luck and post a new upload/download score after the tweaks

If you feel the advanced way is hard, i suggest you use Non advanced way in my guide, i have customsettings for 4000 512 Kbps package.

Rob,
Welcome to the site....and yes you are posting good speeds, a rule of thumb is if you get 90% of your adverstized speed(what you pay for) then you are doing fine....have fun

setup looks nice!! you might want to check and see if there is a new driver for that lan card... that might get you a little more speed.. Also check out VanBuren's tweak guide..

Smile Have you looked for spy-ware?? It is a constant source of speed loss, there are several freeware programs that will find and remove these scum sucking, bottom feeding, ass-wipes, if your computer is infected:) As swimmer suggested the post that Van Buren has for setting up useful  values that will work is very helpful, just remember to have a good copy of your Reg. and test at different times after you make changes. This will give you a better idea of where your at . Let us know and good luck:)

rob,
Both of those are good, have you run them recently (scan) and do you have all the updates with them? Also have you followed the links that Van Buren has on his post , if you test using those links and follow the recommendations and don't notice any difference you may have other issues............ I'm talking about basic things like defrag, and error checking from the "C:" drive, and of course a good old fashioned reset of system and modem.....try these things and post some scores from various times so we can see exactly whats happening.....let us know:)

Smile Yeah rob,
It sometimes doesn't really take long for this to happen:) and it can be a speed killer but often its a combination of several little things......go figure...one more reason why I really enjoy this stuff, and often when I cant see the problem someone points out the most obvious thing, that I didn't see or think of,several minds are most often better than one ....especially if its my one......lol
