1-  I have windows 98se
2- 3000/384
3-bellsouth Extreme
4-2-wire home portal gateway 1100 but only use one computer/no networking
5-amd duron processor 800
6-256 mb of ram
7-ADMtek AN983 Based Fast ethernet  adapter
8-cat 5e cable run from computer to modem (ethernet)
9-cat 5e run straight from NID to modem(telephone)
10-Thank you all for any tweak advice wpardue33
11- rwin is set 63888 and mtu is set at 1452.

current speeds??

make sure that your system is clean.. download AGV antivirus and spysweeper... this will make sure that your results are real and that your system is clean..

I do use adaware se and AVG both are great to have .Thanks I will also try spysweeper. wpardue33

also try spybot. spybot and adaware were voted best antivirus cleaners when used together i think. woooo lets go adaware with its awesome adwatch!

I've been using Kaspersky AV.  It gets alot of stuff you never thought of.  Had it running beside a few others and KAV caught much more.  I like it much better than NAV, MAC, or AVG.  AVG is a close second though.

If you get more then 90% of advertised speed i suggest to leave it like that, your RWIN is in range for 3 Mbps.
