I have Comcast Cable internet and here are my stats:
::::::::::.. Download Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is:: 3035 Kbps about 3 Mbps (tested with 1013 KB)
Download Speed is:: 371 kB/s
Tested From::
http://www.testmy.net/
Bottom Line:: 54 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 2.76 second(s)
Validation Link::
http://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=667NJMGWK
That's all great and stuff but my upload:
::::::::::.. Upload Stats ..::::::::::
Connection is: 240 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 386 KB)
Upload Speed is: 29 kB/s
Tested From::
http://www.testmy.net/
Bottom Line: 4 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 35.31 second(s)
Validation Link ::
http://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=KVFBOST6Y
Is that right?!?
only 29KB they keep telling me over the phone 256KB but they won't tell me if its just KB or Kbps they go around my question till i get upset and just hang up. I had a tech come out cause they said i was in the red on there reading. The Tech hooked up his laptop and ran a test with my modem and he said test ran fine. but i showed him this site and its only 29KB and i use DC++and my upload is only 29 ok there, WinMX 29 there FTP sites 29KB... is this all i can do. I ran adaware and pest patrol, checked for virus but still getting this speed everytime. Any Help will make me happy even if i can get it to 40KB lol. I tried cablenut and did it with the 3000 down and i tried with 5000 down but still upload sucks.
Thanks in Advance

When ISP's advertise speeds they almost always use bits. Not Bytes. You are getting pretty much exactly what you pay for. You get 240 kB/s and your advertised speed is 256 kB/s.

that is because most of the cable uploads are in the 300s.. Comcast is a little slow... to be in the 80s it would have to be around 600s upload...

I need to find that 12 Kbps upload test I once did. I'm glad that time is over, decent upload is finally available to be as well.
It's still only half your upload.
