usually, the more you copy a program, the worse it gets. every copyin process adds new single bit errors to the data. these can be easily corrected by the error correction codecs, but that takes processin time . so unless you're running a first installation off an original disk you are burning processing power to make up for the corrupted data.

If you are talking about XP as a OS itself, it's a decent OS for beginning/intermediate users.

yep. any copy of information made generates a small amount of 'noise'. on an original install off an original disc this is negligible. but install off a copy and you are already generating noise twice.
if the copy was made using an image created off an original to a harddrive then burned, that's 3 times. ones pulled off p2p you have no idea how many times they were copied.
one way to slightly improve the matter is to use ecc ram, which has the error correction codec integrated in the stick itself, but this causes another problem, the ecc takes up space in the ram. so you're buying speed at the cost of memory use. plus the ecc is usually more expensive than non-ecc.

I dunno what he means either.  Maybe he's saying you have to activate your copy of windows before you can use it.  This is true, but if you already own another copy then this shouldn't be a problem, and if you don't there are easy enough ways around that.

If he is talking about using Windows Update on a pirated install, then Windows Genuine Advantage isn't going to let you do it, but there are very well known ways on the internet on circumventing that as well.
