Upload sucks, but downloads are quite fast for satellite.

I don't really know much about satellite broadband. What are the high-end package speeds for it anyway? Is ADSL or cable not available in your area?

Nope, there is a CO about 26,400 feet from us (no DSL capabilities), and I live 15 miles from the nearest town which is Washougal.

If that is indeed satellite, you don't need to do any tweaking. That's pretty fast. Cool

EDIT:

Are you sure you didn't edit those results any? Downloading at 364 kB/s doesn't match up with downloading a 1MB file in .93 seconds. At that speed, it should've taken you a little under 3 seconds. You want to try running it again and posting your real results? Idea

I assume you do not have a DW6000. If so I must get the tweaks you have done. Please let us know what system you have as well as any tweaks.

Swett, a forum just for DirecWay us DirecWay users.

I'll post some scores when I get home.

I'm on a DW6000 which I just upgraded to from a DW4000 a week ago.  I don't get any where near those upload speeds though...

Reason I haven't upgraded yet, waiting on Wildblue, if and when it isn't vaporware.  Very Happy

Onward:
I finally made my host a dedicated host/server, acts a router/firewall, its sole purpose right now is serving 2 clients.

HELP, please....

I have a DW6000, that for the most part works 'ok'.  I need to reboot the modem every week or so (normal?), and for normal surffing etc it is much faster than my old dial-up method at 33.6 max.

HOWEVER.... I sign onto a webcast of a lecture once a month, and it likes to hang.  There are 3 lectures.  One at 4:30 Sat PM, one at 7:30 Sat PM, and One at 8:30 Sun Am.  I have noticed that the Sat connections are much more prone to stals & drops than the Sun one is, and that the Sat Evening (7pm) one drops more than the Sat afternoon(4pm) one.  Is this my connection speed or the uplink speed.  The highest quality it appears to send is about 150Kbps, which come through great, when it drops to 34, it pixalates and video stalls, but audio continues - below that and it drops altogether.  Shouldn't DirecWay be able to handle this?  I've been told by Tech Support that it is because the Internet iteslf is to busy Sat PM - is that True?

512 WiFi just became available - is it more reliable?

I also see that others are getting 36x normal, I'm only at 13x - Are they @ commercial $$ level, or should i complain?

Sunday Am stats are:
